Have to say it doesn't work for me in IE6 6.0.2900.2180, but then no
page using the Google Maps API does.

What is happening, at least for me, is that some of the .js files used
for the API are getting corrupt somewhere along the line.

Usually get the error:
Line: 1
Error: Invalid character

Not surprising when viewing in the MS Script Debuger will find a
completely corrupt .js file.
Just tried your page, and the file below is just a complete mess of
random characters.
http://maps.gstatic.com/intl/en_ALL/mapfiles/159e/maps2.api/mod_jslinker.js
Something like this, just a small bit of what's show in the debugger:
? ?O㈒??Q֭ _? ´ ;?Z d ?!?N?m? ı3?C?M򿟵ӏ?ٛӽ tWUWWw?y#?礠??ޢ?k ?Ļ??
y~􂦑ˋ񓛉?T???} Y>?

Enough refreshing seems to eventually get it to work, but it won't be
long till it's corrupt again.

All our pages on our website are affected by this, and all the pages
on Mike's tutorial site.
All works fine in Firefox, but not in IE6, bit of a problem when we're
stuck with IE6 here.
