Hi,

I know this isn't strictly an API question, but...

Using the Maps API, we geocode address information in our database. A
short time ago, we sent all of our address data to a data warehouse
that cleaned up the data and returned it to us--they were able to
include a 1-5 rating by the Post Office as to the deliverability of
the address: 1 means the address can be delivered to; 5 means it
cannot, and 2-4 represent the varying degrees of confidence.

I've discovered that a fair number of the addresses the Post Office
considers "deliverable" cannot be found by Google Maps geocoding--even
if I just go to maps.google.com and punch in the address manually.
The addresses are not PO Boxes, and certainly look like normal
addresses--they are also all in the U.S., if that matters.

Is this just a matter of Google Maps not being all-knowing? Or does
this (gulp) mean that Google Maps has *better* data than the Post
Office?

Thanks in advance for any insight.
