Hello, I am interested in doing some data mining using Google maps, and am curious if anyone could provide any guidance as to how to tackle this problem :).
This seems a bit arbitrary, but I would like to either write an app, or mapplet etc, where I can locate all McDonalds locations within say North America, and then return data regarding things such as, the average density of McDonalds/square mile, distance between adjacent McDonalds restaurants, and so on. I do not work for McDonalds, I'm a university student doing a project and I need very large sets of data along these lines :).
