Even with Google AJAX Search API it's not going to be easy. It only
returns a small number of businesses for each requested location, and
you may have problems with duplicates (e.g. if you search on
maps.google.com for [McDonalds restaurant near Fleetwood, UK] you'll see
one entry for "Anchorage Rd" and another for "Freeport Village,
Anchorage Rd". Without local knowledge you might not be aware that they
are duplicates.)

You'd probably have better luck approaching McDonalds and explaining
what you're doing.

If that doesn't work, and you can write server-side scripts, you might
possibly be able to hack the server that sits behind

    http://www.mcdonalds.com/usa/rest_locator.html

but that's not easy because they've got some security in there that
tries to stop you doing bulk downloads.

Hints: I don't think you hack into it from Javascript because of cross
domain scripting restrictions, and their Javascript limits you to 20
locations at a time. It might be easier to get 5 locations at a time by
working out the GET parameters for the default <frame> rather than the
POST parameters for the bit that increases it to 20 locations.
