Not to hijack the thread, but quick question on that custom control: it's effectively embedding a second map in the control, right? So if you wanted to add any overlays and the like, you'd have to add them to both instances? I'm from Alaska, and I work for a university that provides a lot of space-borne remote sensing data over the area. It'd be great to use something like that to display a couple regions of interest, although I'd go a little further and have the extra views disappear after zooming out to a certain level.
