Let me guess: you're using IE8.  There are lots of threads about IE8.

There's a <meta> tag which fixes the issue. Or, if you don't want to
do that, you need to work around it by maintaining a variable the
current mouse position using mousemove (which works, I think) in order
that you can use the real position on click.
