Yes, but that's a web application, which uses the regular GDirections object. You're talking about a (Windows) desktop application, which is different. If you embed a browser object into the application, and load the standard javascript API into it, then you can use the same functionality as that site, but as mentioned earlier, your application must be available to anyone to download for free. > Why is the license so expensive just to be able to > provide driving distances between 2 post codes when I can use the > service myself on the google web site for free? Doesn't matter what you use it for. That's the starting price, which includes a certain number of transactions. Go over that number and the price gets higher. Why? Because Google is a business that's supposed to make money. :-) -- Marcelo - http://maps.forum.nu -- > > On Dec 15, 3:14 pm, Andrew Leach <andrew.leac...@googlemail.com> > wrote: > > > On Dec 15, 3:02 pm, jdrawmer <j...@formasual.net> wrote: > > > > Are there google web services like this, is there a way I can do this > > > without having to settle for a poor second best of APPROX DIRECT > > > DISTANCE between the two post codes using my own code? > > > There *are* Google web services like this, but not this one :-( > > > I suggest adding your star to Issue 235, to provide a bit more weight > > towards providing it.http://code.google.com/p/gmaps-api-issues/issues/list > > (It's the one at the top by quite a long way) > > > Andrew -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Google Maps API" group.
