You may also need to bear in mind that different screen sizes will
have a far more marked effect on the displayed bounds than browser
chromes. A full-screen map, set to a particular center and zoom, on a
1280x1024 screen will show a larger area than an identically-specified
map on a 1024x768 screen; and widescreen displays are different again.

If you want a particular geographical area to be displayed, and to
know what that is, then you need to fix the size of the map displayed.
Full-screen is not fixed.
