Thanks, but I don't think that will help. To use the static maps API, you need to pass in an image size. No matter how big I set the image size, when viewed through a mobile browser it shrinks down to unreadable (i.e. if I set it to 1000x1000, on a normal screen it's actually 1000x1000 and readable, but on a mobile screen the map is about 2" square. I don't know if the mobile screen's resolution is so much higher that 1000 pixels looks infinitesimally small, or if there's some other reason.) And apparently there's a limit to the size image the API will generate.
