Not sure what that means. There is a relationship between the marker
number specified and the infoWindow which is shown.

You may want to investigate the relationship between the markers in
the key and the markers on the map: checking the yellow category
actually displays blue markers.

This is almost certainly a CSS issue; it may be related to how IE
handles (or doesn't handle) PNG opacity and transparency together. Or
it could be due to setting a background colour for images.

Neither of those artifacts is shown in your linked example, though, so
any thoughts are simply guesswork. This is why a link to the real
problem map is important.
