Update: to avoid these visual artifacts I have enforced the maximum
stroke weight.  Polys with a higher stroke weight will be rendered at
the maximum supported stroke weight.

If there's a lot of demand we can look into allowing much higher
stroke weights, bearing in mind that this may slow down rendering.
