thanks for the link to the fusion tables ser group It is posted as bug in the Fusion Tables Issue Tracker (http:// code.google.com/p/fusion-tables/issues/detail?id=15&colspec=ID%20Type %20Status%20Summary%20Stars) - so far no solution for that bug.
also the suggestion from the Fusion Tables Team to save my data as a CSV file with UTF-8 encoding and then import to Fusion Tables did not help. I found another thread in the Fusion Tables discussion group (http:// groups.google.com/group/google-visualization-api/browse_thread/thread/ ebda120061022d9a/58c898b5437fe3e1?lnk=gst&q=problem+with +umlaute#58c898b5437fe3e1) with th similar problem, but here too, nobody knew a solution.
