Thanks a lot.

I found Google's reply to a FAQ regarding file transfer limitations:
http://www.google.com/support/talk/bin/answer.py?answer=44256&ctx=sibling

My assumption is: if there are no limitations on the file size, the number of
IMs should not be limited either.

As for the IMs frequency (IMs per second), I'll just do my experiments when I
come to the testing phase.
Worst case scenario, if there's a limit on the number of IMs per second, I'll
just have to programmatically monitor how many messages have been sent in the
last second time span, and wait for a second or so until the next message in a
queue gets sent. A bit more work for me, but not a problem at all from a
technical point of view. It would affect scalability, but - most likely -
there's no such limit.

Once again, thank you very much, Matt!

BTW, AOL has a limit on the number of IMs (in addition to the ones I mentioned
before): only up to 50 IMs/sec (theoretically; but they've had a technical
issue in the servers, so in fact the limit was just?1 IM per 2 seconds:

). Ain't that lovely?!.. No good for a production app at all.
...not to mention an extremely frustrating limitation on the AIM?message length.

If there is a limit, it's not readily available in the documentation.
If anything, I would think that a user would be limited in their rate
of sending messages (e.g., 10 msgs/sec might get you blocked).

Anyone else have more info?
