I have submitted posts previously looking for guidance on 1)
requesting removal of unauthorized themes submitted on behalf of
organizations and 2) submitting a theme to the Causes library. I've
seen no response from anyone capable of answering my questions -
certainly nothing *official* from Google.

Here's the problem:

I am a professional designer and my firm has been asked to assist our
client, a globally known and well-respected philanthropic
organization, with the creation of their Cause theme.

Our client had originally uploaded a theme, which they did in-house
and are thoroughly unhappy with, as the outcome is not what they had
hoped for - this theme is currently in the general theme library, and
it NEEDS to be removed.

So, we built one and have submitted it.

I received no issues with the files, uploading, etc - as this is 101,
and, IMO, people posting here that can't get XML and remote images
done right - should clear the way for those that do... If these
people cannot get the most simple of steps done, they should have no
business wasting Google's time with their submissions - at the *very*
least, Google should read the other (many) threads that suggest
separating the "professional" themes from those that are not. My
intention is not to be harsh, or critical, of those learning, as we
all did that at some point in time, but at this point, this is
impacting my business, so I cannot be sympathetic to those that are
clogging the system for the rest of us, but I digress.

Our theme was completed and submitted with no issues, and I am now
waiting on it to appear in the directory - this was uploaded over 2-
weeks ago now and I am still waiting - this is already a well-known
sore spot for ALL of us.

Once the theme is in the main directory, I am expecting that we can
request that it be reviewed for inclusion in the "Causes" category, as
that was the best advice I've received on the process, to date.

Now, while I am WAITING on Google to do *something* with our
submission, *another* rogue theme representing my client has been
uploaded and is already appearing in the directory. So, while the
PROFESSIONALLY designed, DESIRED and AUTHORIZED theme is wrapped up in
some unknown review/approval process, rogue themes --not even designed
according to the specs and not displaying properly-- SPEED their way
right into the directory.

I now have TWO unauthorized themes that need to be removed... AND,
here I wait for some sign of CONCERN from Google.....

Can *someone*, *anyone* from Google tell us what is going on?? I need
to know:

1. How to REMOVE unauthorized, unwanted themes that are damaging to
our client's brand?
2. How to REQUEST that our 'official' theme be reviewed/accepted for
inclusion in the 'Causes' listings (donation link and all)?
3. How to PREVENT future uploads of unauthorized themes?

I'm afraid that if this situation is allowed to persist, Google will
be solidifying the belief that 'themes' are NOT intended for
professional use to allow us to help build brand awareness for our
clients, while strengthening the penetration of the iGoogle platform
for Google, but instead, is becommng an uncontrolled environment that
*serious* web-site operators MUST be aware of as a potential source of
threats to the brands of our clients.

I am hoping someone out there knows what's happening with this whole
mess and can help me navigate these concerns. I never anticipated
that anything run by Google would appear to be so haphazardly
managed... {sigh}

I also hope that my sentiment about the community is not taken out of
context - normally, I am in full support of those less skilled than
the rest of and I am usually eager to help, but again, this is now
impacting the success of our work, so I'm out of patience with this
clearly over-burdened system.

Google - please reign this mess in!!

ps - As a side thought, I shudder when I consider the amount of
copyrighted material (logos/images/trademarks) that seems to be able
to be thrown into the directory, all without ever "seeming" to be
reviewed by Google. A lot of posts about the issue - anyone else
worried?

pps - Are *unmoderated* forums really the best communication protocol
an organization the stature of Google can offer these days?
