This is going to be heated soon and it is only right for the management team to take sort this out immediately to avoid unnecessary outrage not just from the Malays but also to the Muslims globally.
OFFENSIVE ERRORS! 1. myQuran = syaithan **'syaithan' or 'shaithan' (in Malay or Arab) is 'Satan' or 'Demon' in English. This is as per Oxford Dictionary. I want to assume that this is a missed look act by the Google Translate team. However, I'll just say this. Why is it that when 'mySelipar' (Selipar = Sandal) or 'myBaldi' (Baldi = Pail), there are no exact translation given? i.e. mySelipar = mySelipar & myBaldi = myBaldi. This has made me to think that this was done intentionally where instead of myQuran = myQuran, it was translated to 'syaithan'! This is an offensive insult act to Muslims globally! Do note that this excerpt is being circulated globally via Facebook and it will be very soon that it will hit the global media. 2. boobs = melayu ** 'boobs' or 'breasts' to all, even a 5-year old kid, is the women's top body part located at the chest. Another translation of 'boobs' is it is the plural of 'boob' where it is the Synonym of 'fool', 'blunder', 'fault', 'mistake' and the likes. In Malay language, 'boobs' or 'breasts' = 'buah dada'. However, sadly again, the Google Translate team has done another offensive error by giving the translated word as "Melayu". Although the translation of 'boob' is partially correct (instead of 'orang bodoh', it should be 'bodoh'), this error is indicating that 'boobs' (plural of 'boob' i.e. 'fools', 'blunders', etc) is the "Malays"! Melayu or the Malays, this is correct translation given as per Oxford Dictionary; is a race majority found in the Asean region coming from countries like Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, Brunei, to name a few. There are also Malays who resides or is a PR in countries mostly concentrated in the UK, Australia, Africa among others. This is yet another offensive insult to the Malays! The purpose of using the Google Translate is for easy access to read contents written in other language. If we are to use the Dictionary (not just Melayu, Google Translate also had problems with Indian, Chinese, Swedish and other language translation), it is best that you do not provide the service at all. Before it attracts global media's attention or high traffic of this excerpt being circulated via any social networking apps, DO look into this & rectify. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "General" group.
