The tests in the back-end are valid tests, which fail both with GwtAstBuilder and without it. It's a latent, existing bug in our back end which 1470803 doesn't fix. 1469804 was my initial attempt to fix it, but doesn't work. We cannot commit the tests right now as we have no fix for them. 1470803 merely brings GwtAstBuilder up to parity with the old compiler to solve the front end issue.
