I think the issues everyone is describing have been reported and are

I would suggest that you all go and star that issue (don't add a
comment unless you have something meaningful to add, as requested by
the people who get emails with every bug update).

At the same time, I highly doubt that google will be changing their
build system to maven. However, simply making some simple (though not
insignificant) changes would help us mavenites out a lot.
