If the OP and everyone who "+1"d his request each created a single widget you'd already have a nice start for a library. Why does Google have to do everything? :-) Start with simple widgets (something like a label and a textbox) and make them configurable and skinnable/themeable. Put it on Google Code and get more people involved.
