That's exactly why it would be hugely beneficial to provide a beta- testing service as well as your production service (or, alternatively, provide access to the old version for a while after upgrading the production service). There's no way you can test all the devices out there, but your users can, and if you had a newer version and an older version available simultaneously for a while around every upgrade (with users choosing which one to connect to), then there'd be a window in which you'd be getting bug reports (because the new version is available), but you wouldn't have users who were dead in the water (since they could still access the old version if the new one doesn't work for their device).
