We owe alot of appreciation to all who have taken it upon themselves to aid in helping new gOS and Linux users ease there transition over to gOS Gadgets. You know who you are.
We are working to expand the gOS community with further sites, blogs, and community interaction. One of these ways is a new wordpress blog which is currently in the works. It is not ready for publication yet as there is much content and a few changes to present content that needs to be added. But what we would like to know from our gOS Community is what you would specifically like to see from such a blog, or ideas for other site which may benefit the wider community. To check out what currently exists on the blog visit http://gosportal.wordpress.com Also we need tutorials and screenshots for several common tasks, these will be posted in the blog and within the gOS Community pages. If anyone would like to contribute, see the list below and email all screenshots and instructions to <kevin at thinkgos.com> with the title <Community Tutorials>. 1. Adding Software via Add/Remove 2. Installing and Activating Compiz 3. Installing & Changing Themes 4. Enabling restricted drivers and testing for direct rendering 5. A Wine Walkthru for installing MS Office 2000+ or Adobe Photoshop In other news, we are almost ready to freeze the repository to move users from the beta to final version and fix many of those nagging bugs involving the menu, wbar, etc. Please stay tuned to both this Group and the Blog for an update in regard to this. It will likely be finalized and ready within the next week and a half or so. There is no official deadline because we want to make sure everything is as flawless as possible.
