Yes, I did that. ndisgtk is nice and it install the drivers for me.
That was a lifesaver to tell you the truth...
As of just a few minutes ago I finally got a connection but I need to
wait and see if it "holds" before I start "celebrating" as I've heard
that some people on the Ubuntu forums are having problems with the
adapter after they get a connection (I hope that's not the case with
me).

Also, because I had manually configured the network without the
Network Manager (not sure why that's not working for me) I may need to
do a few other things. But now that I have a connection (at least for
the time being) I can do research on gOS which will make things much
easier for me.

I will post step by step instructions on how I did it so that might
help some of the people that are having the same problem, especially
for people that are new to Linux  as it can be a real headache.

But, for anyone that knows their way around Linux better than I (which
will probably most) you can go to the following 3 links and pretty
much figure it all out. Thanks again to the people that posted the
links up above. Like I said, after I make sure this connection holds
I'll post a step-by-step.
