Made a little more progress. I installed all of the ndis packages and
was able to uninstall then reinstall the blkwgu.inf driver with no
problems (this time using a GUI app that was installed (System
Preferences > Administration > Windows Wireless Drivers). I then
issued the ndiswrapper -l command and it now gives me the following:
blkwgu : driver installed
device (050D) present (alternate driver: zd1211rw)
Earlier that same command was giving me: "blkwgu : invalid driver!"
so I feel like I am making some progress. I did steps 7, 8 and 9
again. 7 and 8 doesn't tell you much, but Step 9 gives me the same
info as earlier so I am stuck at Step 9 now. A couple of things I need
to find out are, when issuing the "sudo iwconfig wlan0 essid WHATEVER"
command do I substitute the name of the wireless router on my network
(in this case Belkin_N_Wireless_A86CEB) in place of the WHATEVER? That
sounds confusing so if it doesn't make sense I'l figure that out on my
own. Also, seeing as have the driver installed correctly I wonder if I
can do this rest without using the terminal and instead do it all from
the gOS menus. I'll post more once I get past this. I think I am close
to getting a connection just need a few more things.
