Hi all. I have a fairly old Thinkpad T20. I probably shouldn't even bother with it. But I want to tinker with gOS on it.
I installed version 2.0 because I just dont think it has the need for some of the features of 3.0. Issues at install though were, the Dock didn't install, cant get wifi to work (surprise, surprise), and also I thought things like gmail were supposed to launch with Mozilla prism? It always launches with a full version of firefox. Its kinda slow right now, but mainly I just want to use this to access the internet from the living room. Nothing more. So I feel I can trim the fat (its got 256mb ram) and make it work fairly well. Any links to knowledgeable websites would be great. Also I installed all the software updates/additions, but when I tried to install ubuntu 8.04, it seemed like it did install, however, when it was finished I was left with only memtest to boot and had to reinstall gOS again. My wifi card is a Linksys PCMIA WPC11 ver. 3 which according to their website uses the prism wifi-drivers and should work fine and gets detected, but wont find or connect to anything. not even with wifi- radar or prism-finder.
