Yes, I could find "flashplugin-nonfree" in Synaptic, and it wasn't installed. After installing it YouTube works.
I still think it is a mistake not installing it per default, as many first time users are bound to struggle with this. The first gOS was lamented for having the same problem. Here are the steps to install the flash-player, DO NOT FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS PROVIDED BY YOUTUBE! (the steps below might not be what you see literally, as I'm using a non English version of gOS., but it should be close) * Open System preferences>management and start Synaptic packet- management. * Enter your password. * Click on the top left "reload" button to make sure gOS uses the latest available packages * Click on the search button and enter "adobe flashplugin" * Synaptic should find "flashplugin-nonfree" * Right-click on the box in front of it, and choose "mark for install" * now click on the "execute" button, the middle button of the five starting with reload and ending with search Now synaptic should install the flash-plugin, and afterwards you should be able to watch youtube movies.
