Well, the flash-plugin -is- "nonfree", that is, it isn't open source,
and the flash -player- that is used by youtube, might very well be
develped by YouTube, but you do not actually install that, you install
the flash plugin, that enables you tu run content like players, or
othe flash based stuff. Adobe owns the flash-plugin, but I think you
can freely install it.

Perhaps the is a legal reason why the flash-plugin cannot be pre-
installed on gOS, but previous versions of gOS did just that. but
anyway gOS could have used the YouTube launcher to check a first time
use (or the presence of the flash-plugin) to ask the user if he wants
to install the plugin. Or at the very least give a message explaining
what  do to get the plugin.
