Yes, I can confirm patmeisters findings, I too had to exchange my CD
player before I could install gOS. Otherwise it would just hang during
the install, and report a "bad CD". But a brand-new Ubuntu 8.04
live_CD that came with a magazine also did not work on that CD_player,
and did after I switched it. In the past I had used the non working CD-
player to install dozens of other Linux distro's. So it seems to be
newer versions of Ubuntu software related.
