"Question is: how come it is not found in gOS's Linux kernel 2.6.24?" That is a question that only the programmers of gOS 3 know, perhaps not even they are aware of why your particular driver was left out, or does not work, perhaps they just forgot to tag an option while compiling the kernel. I am in no way imbued with special knowledge about gOS innards, so don't ask me...
Nobody (certainly not here) can give you such a step by step compendium, the gOS community is simply too small to make it likely another user came across the very same problem. Find a source of information that explains how to install the Linux Attansic L1 driver on top of Ubuntu 8.04, and apply that knowledge to gOS 3, and it -might- work.3. Perhaps the people at the Ubunto forums can help you out better than I can, see: http://ubuntuforums.org/ On 25 nov, 12:24, Kom-Si <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > Thanks for your detailed replies, mahjongg. > > I'm well aware that gOS is based on Ubuntu 8.04, I was simply trying > to emphasize my frustration at the fact that one Ubuntu version > performs just fine on my machine while the other doesn't.
