thanks again, mahjongg. yeah, I do see this forum's limitations -- too bad gOS maintainers do not invest in help and support. that's all Linux is about. I still think it's gOS is one of the best Linux solutions in terms of user- friendliness. actually I ditched gOS for the time being -- I'm not morally prepared to undergo all the anguish of trying to install anything onto a Linux without a network. might easily turn into a nightmare with the missing packages and such, and I'll have to reboot each time to another network-connected OS. br-r-r-r. not for me, not this time... ;-)
I'll wait and see how they're faring with this gOS project. I hope it will catch up eventually, and as community grows, so does the testing base. anyway, at the moment the problem seems to be a terminal one... thanks again, bye.
