I would check to see if a /etc/network/interfaces file was created
also if /etc/resolv.conf

cat /etc/network/interfaces
auto lo
iface lo inet loopback

cat /etc/resolv.conf
nameserver 4.4.2.1

my nameserver ip is not the one i use but is an example. i know those
files are needed for wireless to work on my lenovo r61e
the coding for the interfaces file seems to work fine for me but that
is with kanotix, I would have to check what turns up on gos.
