I do not think that's a distinction that matters at all (I personally never liked that I did get a mozilla.com address instead of a mozilla.org one when I started getting paid by Mozilla, as I think it's important to show people we confer with that we are a non-profit .org and not a for-profit .com). I'll even go as far as to say it should not matter at all if people are paid by the organization or not if they have enough merit in the community.
