Gerv, There’s a lot of really poisonous and hateful stuff coming through. I don’t think Mao/Stalin comparisons are any better than Nazi comparisons. Or concern trolling about pedophilia advocacy (which is a common false equivalency used to attack pro-LGBT activities).
A large number of these posts are, in my opinion, a direct violation of the requirement to keep support for exclusionary practices out of Mozilla spaces as enshrined in the Community Participation Guidelines [1], and I’d hardly call most of them “civil” in the context of the Forum Etiquette [2]. Given that, I’d respectfully ask that you start moderating to those standards. If you’re not willing to enforce those standards in this context, I’d ask that you hand off moderation to someone who will. — Mike [1] http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/about/governance/policies/participation/ [2] http://www.mozilla.org/about/forums/etiquette.html On Apr 5, 2014, at 10:32 AM, Gervase Markham <[email protected]> wrote: > Hi everyone, > > Due to the increased volume of messages in this group, I'm attempting to > enforce the following moderation policy: > > * As long as it's not abusive or involves Nazis, everyone gets one > top-level post to make their view known (whatever it may be) about > what has happened. > > * "Me too" or repetitive replies will not be posted. > > * Constructive debate will always be allowed. > > That's what I'm attempting.
