I think Larissa's point was in future (or now) it would be great to be able to have streams for particular projects (or topics) within Mozilla, so say if you're only interested in Webmaker, you get Webmaker stuff rather than the full blast of everything on Planet. I was having a bit of a conversation with williamr at MozFest about this, and it turned out he had already written up a proposal [1] for being able to limit Planet by Mozillians.org groups.
