That's not correct; this was so much on the roadmap that a team was busy building our own version. However, the decision was taken that we could provide a better user experience and get the feature to market faster by partnering with Pocket (that is my understanding of the rationale, anyway), so we did that instead. This feature is not just about the code in the browser; one supposed benefit of this sort of feature is that you can take your reading list anywhere, and that involves having apps for lots of different platforms.
