Comment (by lv):

There was a DRN OC call about Menu-driven queries today at 1:00 p.m.
 Central.

I asked Jeff Brown how queries are reviewed and approved (MDQ and
distributed). I think this came up in GPC discussion once or twice.

There are two primary sources: studies (adaptable, bariatric, antibiotic)
and front door. The front door requests are approved by the Research
Committee, which authorizes the Coordinating Center to distribute the
request. Metadata on the submission will describe the source and answer
the why/where the request originates. Jeff also emphasized that if a site
isn't sure about a request, then use the Hold button to send a question
 back.

Very few individuals are authorized to write the queries to help control
the process. At least on the MDQ side, queries are written through the
querytool website. Variables are limited to demographics, care setting,
encounter observation period, height, weight, vita measure observation
period, and diagnosis. The Coordinating Center has funding to continue to
 build this out.

Queries are distributed as json and translated to match the appropriate
 environment.
