Hi Jim,

Sorry for any further confusion. But the email below from Deb M. to the
gpc-engagement listserv is the formal invite. If anyone in our GPC engagement
core is interested, please follow those links to learn more/register, etc. and
let me or Deb. M know if any questions. A handful of slots still open and the
hotel block closes next Tuesday 10/18.

Thanks, Bob

Hi Jim, thanks for the interest in the workshop.

Deb's out today so I'm replying in her stead.

As of Friday we had about 30 people registered to come to this workshop from
around the country, and about 6 slots left (maybe a few more if we get any late
cancellations). I haven't seen the full list of registered names myself, and
this message is the first we promoted directly to GPC (probably something I
should have thought of before) so I don't know for sure if any engagement folks
from GPC are coming other than Deb and me. But there theoretically could
already be a person or two from GPC institutions that learned about the meeting
and registered incidentally.

It should be a cool opportunity and a good time, I think. It'd be great for
some GPC folks to be there, as I think we have some good perspectives and
experiences to share. But it's definitely a late notice on my part, and so
nobody should feel pressured to drop plans in order to make their way to Denver
for this.

Also, this workshop is developmental focused, and our extended plans include
moving toward hosting a larger symposium on this topic in late 2017/early 2018.

Hope that helps clarify a bit.

Thanks,

Bob

Deb,
Who else from the GPC has already registered? While I would like to attend this
overlaps the ADAPTABLE kickoff meeting so we have to make sure the right people
are in the right place!

Jim

Dear GPC Patient Engagement members:

We want to inform you of a rapidly approaching Patient Engagement methods
workshop being organized by the Health Care Systems Research Network (HCSRN),
Patient Engagement in Research Scientific Interest Group, and invite you to
consider participating. The goal of the workshop is to identify measures and
metrics for evaluating the impact of patient engagement on the processes and
outcomes of research. The workshop sponsored by a PCORI engagement award to
project PI Dr. Robert Greenlee at Marshfield Clinic, will be held October
27-28, 2016 in Denver, CO. There is no registration fee to attend the two-day
workshop and most of the meals will be provided, including a pre-conference
kickoff dinner the evening of October 26. You would, however, be responsible
for any associated travel costs. If you are interested in attending, please
register soon as there are only 6 spots remaining. Details about the workshop
and a link to register are provided below.
