There is something odd with St George. Some users have problems while others
don't. I've been using St George online banking with the last 3 releases of
Ubuntu with the default install of Firefox without issues. (After installing
Java).

I also use National online banking. It pops up a message saying that I need to
upgrade Netscape, but you can click a box to stop nagging you about it and
continue.

Richard,

Similar problems exist with St George Internet banking. It does work
with Firefox, but not with Linux anymore. A couple of years ago I
convinced them for a while to keep it compliant, but then it stopped,
I'm sure because they adopted the latest version of the MS technology on
their site.

Making the web as proprietary as possible for MS only products has long
been an MS objective, which must be resisted. Changing the bank where
you have your home loan is a bit radical, but changing a components
supplier isn't. Have you considered getting your stuff elsewhere and
telling them why?
