There doesn't seem to be a big stick being held over divisions just yet. I'm just about to get into the division Future Directions implementation toolkit folder (after it has been updated with the freshly arrived bundle of paper).
According to the ADGP website there is no penalty for not collecting population health data up untill 2008. There are also no GP incentives to participate in the same period. I think we are expected to report on asthma patients who are smokers in that period. Meeting targets has us reporting a little bit of data from one practice initially (based on a percentage of practices). We should be able to report on more than the minimum, but I'm not sure how much real world use we will get from data collected right now. There are probably brownie points for reporting on more than the bare minimum. The whole thing seems to be a bit of an exploritary exercise at the moment, with some basics being targeted and divisions being encouraged to look at any data that may be valid and useful to programs specific to their division. I think there is also some group looking at implementation strategies for divisons who haven't been able to work it out for themselves in the early stages. This will apply to both MD3 and Practix. I filled in a survey on the proposed Qs for collecting the practice level outcomes data. As our pathology comes as 'pit', it isn't searchable, so there goes one thing. Our practice doesn't collect ATSIC data (I said for religious reasons) so we will never be able to say how much we do for that group. I can't see even a practice like ours being able to supply the requested data. Liz -- Once Again From the Top Correction notice in the Miami Herald: "Last Sunday, The Herald erroneously reported that original Dolphin Johnny Holmes had been an insurance salesman in Raleigh, North Carolina, that he had won the New York lottery in 1982 and lost the money in a land swindle, that he had been charged with vehicular homicide, but acquitted because his mother said she drove the car, and that he stated that the funniest thing he ever saw was Flipper spouting water on George Wilson. Each of these items was erroneous material published inadvertently. He was not an insurance salesman in Raleigh, did not win the lottery, neither he nor his mother was charged or involved in any way with vehicular homicide, and he made no comment about Flipper or George Wilson. The Herald regrets the errors." -- "The Progressive", March, 1987 _______________________________________________ Gpcg_talk mailing list [email protected] http://ozdocit.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/gpcg_talk _______________________________________________ Gpcg_talk mailing list [email protected] http://ozdocit.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/gpcg_talk
