Michael Daly's request is an opportunity to put out an offer to use our students to assist in this type of work. Our third year students have to do a group project (4-6 students) on some information systems project. The project has to be a real life situation that solves a tangible problem, such as selecting, installing and commissioning a Content Management System. If you have ideas for other system tasks let me know. The teams tend to split around different functions e.g. project manager, systems analyst, designer, programmer, etc. and they are expected to put in 120 hours of work each. The projects run from August to October. The students compete for a $1000 awarded by Accenture and they are very competitive and the best produce very high class results of industrial standard. You might want to use them for your own enterprises or for a community group you are aassociated with. The offer is restricted to the Sydney environs, although last year one group travelled to Newcastle. Not all ideas are suitable for this type of project as they might be too small or too large. Write to me and I'm happy to help you develop something of the correct size. cheers jon
