2 answers: a) have both. Life is too short to miss out on what you want b) dual core opterons are bloody uncomfortable to sit on and get too hot too. If you really need processing power, go cluster and escape the obsolescency treadmill. Get the chair, sit back and watch your cheap cluster humming away.
