Been exploring chairs a year ago.

Yes Herman Miller's Aeron chair is a modern, oft copied, classic. My bony frame finds the mesh seat/back a bit stiff. There are several sizes of the real item, so make sure you get the right size.

The Contessa chair is a Aeron look alike by Giugiaro. Looks much groovier than the Aeron, as one would expect from Guigiaro. Has more seat/back options other than mesh. Manufactured by fastidious Japanese.

More than $1000. Partners thought it looked a bit too opulent for a GP.

Wilkhan chairs are slick German design/manufacture. Explore:

Some models as low as $850. Noteworthy are the ergonomic seat wedge which assists correct pelvic tilt and the auto-locking castors which prevent then chair running away when one is not sitting on it. For those than have ever landed on their backside on the floor trying to sit on a castor-wheeled chair, this is an important design feature.

Vitra makes fabulous chairs, but priced here about double other options.

The most expensive Ikea chair (Klappe) is pretty good. Looks a lot better from the rear. Does have self-locking castors. I like mine.

$549 (Lists $50 less in WA)

Items <$1000 have significant taxation advantages under the Simplified Tax System. (100% deductible as a lump.)

We have Samsung 173P monitors. Porsche designed. Portrait mode available. Built in swivel base is invaluable in consulting room. Also seems to have great colour accuracy for graphic art work. (Though have not compare with $1500-$2500 professional monitors.
