My son operates clusters to use other's computing power to compile his gentoo 
installations.
However when running distributed computing assignment for Uni he 
underestimated the power required for his program and the sysadmin pulled the 
plug on the first iteration of his program which would have taken several 
days to run.
I'm sure that there are others who didn't own up.
