Ross proposed a model for WebService based messaging very similar to NeHTA's because we hearitly endorse their choice of this technology.

The objectives of the model articulated by Ross are:

    -    to facilitate interoperability (actually, makes it an imperative)

    -    to offer an alternative to the hub-based approach favoured by commercial providers, while creating an infrastructure which they can link into, thereby protecting their right to charge customers who are willing to pay

    -    to cater to the practical challenges facing GPs (and sole practitioners) in a producer/consumer model, like WebServices.
