Because MD3 is not pure SQL - ie. Still has dbf files, they can't have live
updates.  As Nigel Farrier said, if one uses a product that is 100% SQL,
then these live updates is fantastic.  Nobody has to log off their
workstations.  They continue using for example "BPsoftware" and the server
gets updates silently.  Here broadband is fantastic.  Thus no more midnight
updates, and more important n down time. In a large practice this is very
importasnt as downtime to update a Server costs money.

Interesting that the drug updates in MDW3 have to be installed  
manually on each client, a step backwards in a product that is  
otherwise a big improvement on it's predecessor.
