Dear colleagues, I asked NEHTA to tell me the names of the GPs involved in advising NEHTA.
Please see my message below, and below it a small part of the reply from NEHTA, with my reply to Gabrielle Lloyde's reply.

Thank you. ***************************** Gabrielle Lloyde wrote on 11/7/06:
For obvious privacy reasons we are unable to provide the names of participating individuals in our consultation process.
Dear Gabrielle, Thank you for your reply to my message. The 'obvious privacy reasons' that you say prevent NEHTA from telling me which GPs are involved in advising NEHTA are not obvious to me at all. In every other publically-funded organisation that I have worked, the names of those being consulted and working with that organisation have been freely available. NEHTA is spending public money on public projects for the health professions. Patients and health professionals for whom NEHTA is developing standards and systems expect to know who is representing them and being consulted on their behalf. Please could you explain to me why NEHTA is unwilling to tell the profession who is representing it? I will now contact the federal Minister for Health, the Australian Medical Association, the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners and the Australian Divisions of General Practice to seek their support and help to get NEHTA to provide this information. -- Oliver Frank, general practitioner 255 North East Road, Hampstead Gardens, South Australia 5086 Phone 08 8261 1355 Fax 08 8266 5149 Mobile 0407 181 683 _______________________________________________ Gpcg_talk mailing list [email protected] http://ozdocit.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/gpcg_talk
