Horst and I didn't specifically act as a team, but expressed our
concerns about different aspects of the original implementation of the
HIC's PKI.

I was most concerned about the huge technical documents that GPs were
expected to sign to certify that they had read, understood and accepted,
containing terms and conditions that very few if any GPs other than a
handful such as Horst could have had any idea about.

Horst had violent disagreements with the HIC's use of potentially or
actually untrustworthy commercial agencies pushing products (such as the
iKey) that were not adequately secure, with the HIC expecting to
generate our private keys for us, and with the HIC forbidding the use of
digital certificates supplied by other agencies or organisations or
under other trust structures.
