Yes funding will help, but all these specialists charges private rates.
They should have the funds available. PC are so cheap, it won't hurt their
pockets. Most specialist don't complain about the costs, they have varous
excuses from "Too scared too touch a PC", to I'm scared of computer viruse.
A few years ago I offered to send specialists blank floppies to save my
letters on & mail me that. Had zero uptake.

Cedric,

Every area is different. To some extent I'm sure it's a random thing.

Oliver may have more success, but I think some overall funding to
motivate everyone would help. How many GPs would be clinical computer
users without the 7 years of PIP incentives and the support from
Divisions, especially during 1999-2001?

A group of cardiologists in Western Sydney is setting up to send and
receive reports/referrals securely. In that case the shoe will be on the
other foot.

Similarly, Medical objects has been sponsored and initiated by the
gastroenterologists at Buderim. Argus, on the other hand. was initiated
by a consortium led by Top End Division and got some government money,
only they've forgotten why they. there are other examples.
