Hello all

I agree with John ..... rudeness doesn't really achieve much. It's certainly not conducive to creating a positive environment of cooperation and collaboration which is so badly needed and indeed the way forward for ehealth in Australia. How then can one resolve the conundrum - when so many on the 'list' talk about the need to work 'together'? How can this come about if they are blatantly rude to each other? The list is a complex mix of personalities and egos - many with good ideas striving to be heard. I suspect there are quite a number of influential people who watch this list without participating. They may draw conclusions about the 'tone' of some of its contributors. One could say that arguing, bickering and point scoring to the point of rudeness is healthy and indicative of the 'enquiring' mind. Some may label it as constructive dialogue or defending one's position - I think it's debilitating. It serves little useful purpose, except perhaps to convince some who may be 'watching (be it NeHTA, DOHA or other bureaucrats and professional bodies) to stay well clear and not get involved. Perhaps if there is a psychologist, or a psychiatrist, or an expert in achieving effective teamwork, cultural and attitudinal change within a 'tribe of professionals', they might like to comment.

That's OK Oliver....I don't think people should be rude to each other in
this forum or question each others knowledge. They can put up differing
points of view in a decent manner. I would like to see a better tone to
the communications. That will improve its attractiveness to others. I am
aware of others who watch the site, never make a comment, because it
has, at times an aggressive environment. Maybe we will have another chat
some time when I am in Adelaide. Keep well.

I have said it before.... Why should this sort of commercial bickering

John, I disagree. For we GPs, these messages provide important insights
and a better understanding of the messaging and data communication
issues in Australia that have to be sorted out so that clinical
information can be shared reliably and easily between all of the players
in the health system.
