Yes the day they lost their field support techie, Matt Davies was the day it
all went downhill, steeply.
I agree with Richards comments about it being industrial strength and
functionally great, if only they completed the Australian-isation of it.
I noticed a few months ago at one of my sites that in the upgrade to the new
version the db server was using substantially less ram than before, and it
was never greedy. Quite unusual for an upgrade really.
One of my larger GP sites dumped it because it wasn't Australian enough and
they had huge difficulties getting their data out.
Very much a missed opportunity by the NZ parent company as they came into
the market as Mims Clinical went into some idiots safe forever.

Totalcare exhibits the same industrial strength if thats what you are
looking for. Very Australian-ised too.
Not sure how good the clinical is for GP's, mainly used by specialists.
Scales beyond belief.
You could use BP as the clinical module to Totalcare I guess at Totalcare
works well with MDW2.

Oh Profile was such a missed opportunity, the scanning interface is the best
I have ever seen, period.
If only their salesman didn't have such a penchant for long -shaft -ing
their clients :)

Thanks for the replies.

>Personally I think that some heavy handed govt official should insist that
the whole of Australia uses it (you could run an >>>entire city of GP's on
it) and then the weak bits would be updated, and as I mentioned I think it
is conceptually and functionally light years ahead of anything on the
Australian market. Would be my personal choice.

I couldn't agree more with your opinion.
We have found the support to be very helpful.
The complexity of the possible programme options has meant training has been
difficult.

As Craig Barnett mentioned:
"I think the key issue or "word of warning" for using profile is
understanding it is not "out of the box" It is a very open platform for YOU
to determine how it will be used in your business."

Perhaps there is a place for a user forum or at least an Aussie template
library ?
