I used to be a Liberal voter and I agree completely with Horst.
May the Libs see the light (after a trouncing) and go back to being
'liberal'.

Horst, do you realy believe the current opposition will be any better for
GP's, Medicine, IT/IM etc. than the current government ?? Just think of
all the current bad things in Medicare we have that was started by them
etc. I suppose the higher taxes we'll pay, impossibe industrial laws for
us small business operastors etc. is also fine by you.
I don't think they can do any worse for australia as a whole. I am suprised
how many doctors can't see beyond their own wallets.
I want my four children to live in a country free of wars and social disquiet,
with excellent infrastructure allowing them to develop to the full of their
individual potentials. I other words, I want them to have a future.
As it is, we have been dragged into an unjustifiable war, are the worlds
number one environmental pig (worst polluter!!! in per capita terms), have
pissed off just about any neighbour we have, have destroyed most
international relationships bar two, have ravaged most public infrastructure,
have decimated public education, and have selled off most valuable public
assets. And as doctors we should be particularly ashamed at having aboriginal
health below the standards of most third world countries nowadays!
I doubt anything short of a full blown civil war could make the *long
term*prospects for Australia any worse. The current situation is like a
farmer having sold off the property he inherited and now blows the money on
baubles and impressing rich friends.
