The IP address is configured as usual in the guest Linux, using
what it sees as eth0 and is on the same subnet as both the bridge
and the real interface.
NB - once running, your guest can't route back to your host using
the eth0 IP of the host, but can contact it on the bridge (br0) IP.
I'm not sure if this is by design or because I didn't exactly
follow all the steps. It's not true the other way - the host can
connect directly to the guest.
Scratch that - sorry. Using my example I get eth0 on the host down
and br0 up and routing, so everything is working but not the way I
expected. I've had enough for tonight but let us know how you go.
cheers,
Peter.
